Join D.C.-based Read & Run on the Road organizer Chelsey Stone to spot hidden Civil War sites and explore the Clara Barton Missing Soldiers Office Museum for a 30 minute private, staff-led tour.
As D.C.’s marathon—Marine Corps Marathon—approaches connect with runners as you tour significant Civil War sites in DC. Given that weekend is Marine Corps Marathon, what a better time to reflect on D.C.’s military history.
In just 2.5 miles, you’ll see monuments, buildings, and museums you likely pass by all the time but didn’t know are dedicated to memorializing the Civil War. The route ends at the Clara Barton Missing Soldiers Office Museum for a 30 minute private, staff-led tour.
SaltStick has generously agreed to provide FastChews samples. Chelsey couldn’t be more excited to partner with them because heat (and surely electrolyte loss) were a significant issue for Civil War soldiers, as we’ll discuss on the run and at the museum.
