Join Read & Run on the Road organizer Chelsey Stone to trace 16th Street—known as both the Avenue of the Presidents and the Road to Heaven—passing embassies, sculptures, and landmarks like the Scottish Rite House of the Temple and the Chastleton apartments. Along the way, we’ll also visit the vibrant Mount Pleasant neighborhood, home to generations of Latin American and Caribbean immigrants, and stop by local favorites like Leon’s Shoe Repair, Corado’s, and the GALA Theatre.
After the run, co-author Andrea Seiger will join us at Corado’s for a casual discussion over enchiladas, empanadas, and more. (Participants cover their own meal costs.)
